Job Overview

We are seeking a freelance graphic designer with an Earth focused design style to manage the creation of different environmentally and socially friendly products and media content such as T-Shirt designs, social media & website images, infographics, blog posts, business cards, post cards, etc. The role will require the individual to manage all of the graphic design projects for EarthCitizen, which will require you to work with multiple vendors, manage several projects simultaneously, create eco/social friendly products, and participate in the marketing of the material.

Marketing Support

As a Graphic Designer, you will be working closely with the Marketing and Social Media Specialist in terms of creating graphic designs for various portions of our website and social media campaigns. Drawing upon your passion to help improve humanity's role on the planet, you will translate stewardship, compassion & sustainability concepts into strong and compelling artwork.

Merchandise Support

As a Graphic Designer you will be responsible for creating and/or working with other vendors to create EarthCitizen eco/social friendly apparel, post cards, business cards, etc. You will research, trend shop, and work closely with our Director to develop new and fresh ideas and techniques for conveying our message to the consumer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the process of hiring, creating, testing, and executing collateral from design to post production.

Qualifications

• BA or FA in Graphic Design with a minimum of 3 years experience
• Experience in creating eco/social friendly art and products
• Ability to work with multiple vendors and companies to create products
• Thorough knowledge of apparel graphics production (e.g. silk screen graphic production, apparel graphic techniques, print on demand, etc.)
• Must have strong artistic ability, including drawing skills, sense of image and type, with an excellent taste for design and color
• Organized, documents well, and communicates clearly with team.
• Extensive experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
• Previous experience in fast-paced, creative, and dynamic environment
• Conceptual and brainstorming skills required
• Good English writing skills
• HTML basic knowledge
• Self Empowered, with integrity and good moral character

Responsibilities

• Create graphic concepts, sketches, and designs for T-Shirts, website, etc.
• Research and create design concepts that are trend setters in a global market
• Research and develop eco/social friendly products (i.e. postcards, water bottles, etc.)
• Prepare final files for our partners and vendors based upon their specific set-up requirements, ensuring quality, and accuracy
• Review and approve proofs for overall quality, clarity, content, design intent, and color
• Create mockups, upload images on website, and on print sites
• Update projects on Asana and other documents
• Add media content to website, social media sites, etc.

Applicants who have the following are preferred:

• Experience in creating eco/social friendly branded apparel
• Knowledge in existing sustainable apparel blogs, etc.
• Experience in active wear or street industry a plus
• Experience in marketing travel and outdoor apparel
• Experience in managing and hosting T-Shirt contests
• Shopify experience

Terms of Service: 3 months minimum commitment with possibility for longer term work.
